Africa Time

So a new friend of mine last night, Louise, had to explain “Africa Time” to me after I had a couple of hours of frustration trying to accomplish what should have been a very easy task, booking a rental car. The gist of “Africa Time” is that things happen when they happen, and it’s mostly NOT right now or so quickly in my few weeks of experience. And ‘just now’… well that can mean right now (though usually not) to years from now, in case you were wondering. Also, the pace here is slower than the good ol USA, of which I’m not complaining about, but it does occasionally try my patience since I’m used to just getting on with things and getting them done. But alas I am in Africa and am learning how to be more relaxed and settle into “Africa Time”…
